Combat Fitness is a 60 minute class; half strength and conditioning and half focus mitt combinations.
This training starts with a light warm up followed by high intensity interval training workouts using everything from medicine balls to resistance band to body weight to dumbbells to jump boxes and more for use in a variety of different exercises. Students are taught 3 to 4 exercises to be completed in sets of 3 to 4 then repeating this process with 3 to 4 new exercises.
The second half of Combat Fitness uses a variety of punches, kicks and knee combinations using focus mitts and a partner. Focus mitts are used to catch your partners punches and kicks. The instructor will teach both the punch – kick combinations, as well as teaching how to hold the focus mitts.
Students will work with a partner for the focus mitt work. Each partner will go back and forth 2 to 2 and 1/2 min rounds, teaching you a new combination after both have completed the round.
